What are the driving distances per day/time spent en route?

Distances differ from day to day but average out on about 100 km per day. Please keep in mind that we take a lot of breaks-for sightseeing purposes, for refreshment or photo stops, and also during more complex dune manoeuvres as drivers are carefully guided through challenging sections of dune terrain. After all, if we spent all the time sitting in a car seat, there’d be no opportunity to enjoy the WOW-factor of the world’s oldest desert! The journey between rest camps thus usually lasts 6-8 hours. Departure time in the mornings differs from season to season, according to distance to be covered and sites to be visited. However, guides generally encourage a departure of no later than 9 am and try to reach the next camp site around 5 pm.
